Update
Ok, we’ve been getting some good legal advice. We’re confident that, very soon, Fornits Home for Wayward Web Fora (F-WWF) will be back to the unreasonable faccimilie of “normal” that we have come to know and love…. most of the time. We’re just waiting for busy people to examine tricky questions so that we don’t fumble and let something like this happen again so easily.
Ok, our hosting provider accepted our counter-notice on Monday, February 7th. Looks like the 19th will be the end of the waiting period. If the complainant sues, we’ll deal with it. If they don’t then we go back online.
We also have gotten funding to register a DMCA agent for fornits.com. So that will happen either tomorrow or Monday, depending on whether the library and post office are open in my town. We’re pretty much snowed in, under a state of emergency. But Monday at the latest.
Thanks to everyone who has given various kinds of support. It takes all kinds; all kinds of advice, all kinds of moral support and friendship, all kinds of advice, good bad and ugly and, sometimes all kinds of money. But we got it! Solid and righteous! And we’re grateful for that.
